Demon in the Family, pg 1

Well, this is the first page of my new comic, which will be going up on smackjeeves once (if) I get the first chapter done.

Since the first chapter is basically a fight scene, this is a challenge.

Anyways, here's the teaser I tossed together:

Eleanor Hertzel has always brought home the wrong kind of boyfriends. Generally, they are tattooed, high, unemployed, and have piercings in odd places. This christmas, however, appears to be a bit different. She’s introducing Ike to her parents. And they’re engaged.

Ike appears to be very different from her previous boyfriends, with a college degree, a collared shirt, and zero visible piercings.
However, as Chase, Eleanor’s brother, discovers, while Ike is different from Eleanor’s previous boyfriends, it’s not in the ways their parents thought.

Ike is quite like Eleanor’s previous boyfriends in the ways that matter to Mr. and Mrs. Hertzel - apparently, when Eleanor said she met Ike at a “arty with some mutual friends” she actually meant a “rave where I was so high everyone was my friend” - what matters to Chase is that Ike isn’t even human.

Gifted with the ability to identify and kill demons, Chase has been slaying flesh-eating monsters since before high school. Needless to say, he’s not happy with the idea that there might soon be a demon in the family.



Anyways, I'm pretty pleased with this. I basically tossed inking out the window, (as I've kind of done frequently in my art lately) and since that was my least favorite part, I think this will go well.

I used the font "A.C.M.E. Secret Agent" which I got off Blambot.com
